Who were the two people in the Bible that did not die, but ascended into heaven?
There are two men mentioned in the Bible who did not taste death, but were taken directly into heaven. The first was Enoch.
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.
Hebrews 11:5 (NIV)
Here, for no other reason than that he pleased God, Enoch was taken into heaven. His life is a testimony to that should encourage you to please God.
The second man who did not die was Elijah. His departure was a miraculous sight to behold.
As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
2 Kings 2:11 (NIV)
